Welcome to The Bone Room Online
MAY NEWSLETTER
With Mothers' Day (and Fathers' Day, and Teacher Appreciation) coming up, we are presenting our (mostly) jewelry issue:
Designer jewelry, charmingly realistic, either solid silver or silver-plated bronze, with wonderful heft. Most pendants are sold on their own, but we do have adjustable silver chains available. Please note we have a couple of very guy-friendly rattlesnake head bolo ties.
Proper Bone Room bone earrings - coyote and raccoon bacula made into large dangling earrings, very attention-getting.

Armadillos are one of the trio of animals that wandered up from South America over the landbridge 3 million years ago. Since around 2015, when scientists discovered that armadillos were vectors for leprosy, armadillo material has become difficult to obtain. But we picked up a few good things in Tucson this year, and here they are: Armadillo Stuff

We have the birds and the bees - fashioned from amber, citrine, and sterling silver.
And out of Africa - in addition to the animal skulls we have from Africa (like springbok), we have a few things manufactured in the cradle of mankind. The bracelets and necklaces are made from recycled materials that would otherwise be added to the earth's trash; the wooden 'head cradles' are antiques from Ethiopia.

So...being a mom, I can tell you that I would like a wolf or bear or lynx claw necklace for Mother's Day, or even wolverine claw earrings. I can't be the only one!

Ron Cauble, founder of The Bone Room, was obsessed with inclusions in amber. At Fossil and Mineral Shows he would typically be found seated at an amber dealer's booth, a great pile of amber pieces before him, peering through a loupe at the world inside each piece.
Over the years, some of the pieces were sold to collectors and scientists (most notably, to George Poinar, recognized amber expert and author) - but Ron was always a better collector than salesman, and his collection grew to museum backroom proportions.
Finally we are getting a good start on cataloging and photographing his enormous collection of amber and copal, and offering this work of love and obsession to the public. We think Ron would approve.
